Ian Stein

What I’ve Learned From Life With Seizures

“Out of sight, out of mind.” Why so cruel, Aristotle? Three years ago, Ian watched in horror as his friend convulsed violently and fell to the ground. He had never before witnessed a grand mal seizure, let alone heard the term. As the crowd huddled around his friend’s body, Ian screamed, "What can I do to help?" — and simultaneously counted his blessings. This past fall, Stein’s world changed when he was diagnosed with focal epilepsy. In this TEDx Talk, Ian delves into life with seizures and how he has navigated stepping into a pair of shoes he never imagined he would be walking in.
